Crossfit Open 2022 Is HERE
Whether you have signed up with Crossfit to participate in the Open or if you're doing the workouts for fun; it's a great part of the Crossfit culture and a fun way to gauge your fitness against previous years and other athletes from around the world.
Workouts are released each week on Thursday. Athletes have until Monday evening to complete the workout for entry into the Crossfit dashboard. Workouts need to be performed to the Crossfit Standards and verified by a certified "judge". Almost anyone can be certified to be a judge and many of our community members will do this in an effort to support others who are competing in the Open.
WE HAVE FUN WITH THE OPEN! It's an opportunity for our community to come together, encourage and support one another and just have fun. We'll be keeping with our theme of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS this year where workouts will be themed on Friday nights. It's a perfect reminder that we do not take this too seriously!
Join us tomorrow for our first round of Friday Night Lights, where are theme is.......Mardi Gras!
Dress in your favorite beads and flair, whether you are working out, judging, or cheering on your friends. Be ready to have fun.
The Standards
The standards for each movement are spelled out so athletes understand how they will be evaluated. Nobody wants a NO REP during the Open!
The wall walk was a movement we saw in previous Open workouts, but not something that we regularly do in class. See the descriptions and standard specifications below.
The Dumbbell Snatch is a familiar friend (or foe). Be prepared for it be reading the standards below.
Last but not least is the Box Jump / Step-Up
Lastly, if you haven't done so already - download the Crossfit Open App. It's a great place to keep up on the latest workouts, log your scores. (Scores entered need to be verified on the Crossfit system by Coach Nathan).
Looking forward to seeing everyone over the next weeks and supporting each other.
Better. Everyday.
